PrintAustralia will be staying in Manchester for the duration of Rugby League World Cup 2013 and Mancunians will be working closely with Kangaroos to promote the sport of Rugby League in the Manchester area.

21 October: Mancunians year-10 Rugby League tournament.

Seven Manchester school sides will compete in the largest youth Rugby League tournament ever held in the city.

Sides from schools in Chorlton, Whalley Range, Moss Side and Didsbury will compete for the inaugural Junior Mancunians Rugby League tournament.

Players and staff from Australia Rugby League will be in attendance to help the Junior Mancunians and to hand the winning side the trophy.

30 October: An audience with…Tim Sheen, Head Coach Australia RL

The Kangaroos are the most successful modern team of either code of rugby, having won nine of the 13 World Cups contested.

Head Coach and master tactician, Tim Sheens, together with Head Conditioner Alex Corvo, will give a unique view into what it takes to prepare a team for a World Cup.

This is a great opportunity for any sports coach who wants to gain knowledge into what it takes to motivate elite performers.

Tim Sheens Australia RL Head CochSheens has a wealth of experience of coaching Rugby League at the highest level and has been coach of the Kangaroos since 2009. He has coached Penrith Panthers, Canberra Raiders, North Queensland Cowboys and Wests Tigers during a stellar career, winning the 2005 Premiership with the Tigers.

Each of the coaches will give a short presentation, followed by a question and answer session. You will be able to submit your questions online before the session for consideration.

This will be the only coaching seminar that Tim Sheens and Alex Corvo will be conducting during the World Cup and all funds raised will go towards Rugby League development in Manchester.

The club will be open from 5:30 and food will be available for purchase for those wishing to arrive early. The evening is expected to conclude at 9:00.

30 November: Come with us to Rugby League World Cup 2013 Final @ Old Trafford, Manchester

We’ve secured a number of tickets to what will be the biggest Rugby League game of 2013 – the World Cup Final!

Old_Trafford,_reflectedCome and join us for a great afternoon of Rugby League. We’ll meet in central Manchester in the late morning and then enjoy a couple of drinks before heading off to the game.

Tickets are available here and are priced at £40 with £12 of each ticket goes towards Rugby League development in Manchester.
