Manchester’s most innovative sports club, Mancunians is holding the first of it’s “Try it” events on Sunday 22nd April.
The doors open at their Hough End base at the Police club where between 10am and 3pm, there is lots going on.
“Our aims are simple, we are moving more toward a multi sports club culture. Rugby League remains at our core, however we understand that people now participate in sports in vastly different ways.
“To grow into the size of club that we want to be, we have to adopt a very different approach to others in traditional areas.”
“We want to bring people into our club via a range of different sports and know that this approach works. Last year a gentleman joined our walking football group, now his wife is playing walking netball, his grand children are doing rugby and their parents have enquired about the bike ride.”
“We have a number of events and different sports going on during the day and will follow this up with further “Try it” events in May and June.”
In addition to being able to have a go at Walking Football, Walking Netball, Walking Rugby and Tag Rugby, children are welcome to try rugby at under 6, under 8 and under 10s age groups. All skill levels are welcome.
People are also welcome to bring their bicycles as we take our latest sports section out for a spin around South Manchester. There is also the chance to try the exciting sport of wheelchair rugby league. There is a free car park and refreshments will be available on the day from our on-site coffee shop.
The club can be found at Mauldeth Rd W, Manchester M21 7SX
There is something for everyone, so come along and “Try it” with Mancunians.
