Mancunians are to extend their wide-ranging community activity with the addition of two new primary schools in South Manchester.
They will run after school rugby clubs for children aged 5-11 years old and the addition of the two new school partners sees Mancunians primary school activity extend to double figures on a weekly basis.
The club is working more schools than ever before and all schools that the club work with will be encouraged to attend the regular rugby festivals that Mancunians run.
Mancunians recently reported that the number of children attending their weekly Mini Mancunians Rugby sessions had risen due to the increased amount of primary school activity that the club had been delivering, and the club now expects to see even more children attend the Sunday morning sessions.
“We’ve recently seen an eighteen percent conversion rate of children coming to the club from local primary schools, which is a fantastic rate. Said club director, Stefan Hopewell. “If this rate continues then we will see a large influx of children attending our Sunday sessions having a load of fun each week. We have recently formed under 6 and under 8’s rugby teams for boys and girls and we look forward to welcoming the new children and taking them on exciting trips to rugby clubs and festivals around the north west.
“A couple of weeks ago we visited Salford Red Devils where the children were flag bearers before the game played a game on the pitch at half time and they had a fantastic time.” He added.
Sunday Morning Mini Mancunians sessions for boys and girls take place at Hough End Police Club, Mauldeth Road West, Chorlton at 10:30 every Sunday morning. For more details please go to www.wearemancunians.com or call 07977 486 236.
