Mancunians, Manchester’s Rugby League and Sports Club have announced a partnership with local beer producer, Manchester Brewing Company to appoint an ‘Official Beer of Mancunians’.
The Ten Borough’s Mancunian Pale, brewed in the city of Manchester has been created by newcomers Manchester Brewing Company in partnership with Forever Manchester, the Manchester Charity that supports projects across the Manchester City Region.
The deal will see the Mancunian Pale logo worn on the kit of the Chorlton based, Mancunians Adult Rugby League team and the brewery become an official partner of Mancunians with the club being supplied with Mancunian Pale during the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The Beer is a 4.7% straw-coloured pale ale, brewed in the grand tradition of the Manchester style – dry, bitter, eminently thirst-slaking! – brought bang up-to-date with a whole heap of the NZ hop “Waimea” to add aromas of tangerine and pine. The ale will be available throughout the year in 330ml can with keg and cask being made available on request. Twenty five pence of every can sold goes to fundraising efforts at Forever Manchester so that they can reinvest in projects that help the local community.
The deal will also see Forever Manchester appointed as Official Charity of Mancunians with the club fundraising for the charity throughout 2016 and 2017. The charity logo will be used around the club and will be featured on the kit of the Adult Rugby League team.
The deal is being announced during Forever Manchester Week, and Manchester Beer Week which run until Saturday 18th June with fundraising and beer sampling events throughout the city.
Celebrating the deal, Mancunians Director, Stefan Hopewell says: “This is a very innovative deal that will see the Ten Boroughs ‘Mancunian Pale’ featured around the club. Mancunians are a thirsty bunch and I am sure that once people know that they can raise funds for a very unique charity then an extra pint will taste even better than the last.” He said. “Manchester Brewing is a young company, just like Mancunians and we are looking forward to building our relationship and growing together”.
Commenting on the tie-up between Mancunians and Forever Manchester, Stefan Hopewell said: “There are many similarities between Forever Manchester and Mancunians, particularly the ‘Manc’ way of doing things. They carry out some fantastic work around the Manchester City Region and we are looking forward to working with them over the coming years.
Paul and Kerry Mellor, from Manchester Brewing Company, said; “Manchester Brewing Company is thrilled to be working with Mancunians and doing some Manc-style fundraising. We’ve produced a unique, straw-coloured pale ale to launch in Forever Manchester Week and Manchester Beer Week and we are looking forward to growing together over the coming years”
