The Rugby League World Cup 2013 Media Touch Rugby Tournament, hosted by Mancunians RL kicks off this Thursday 28 November, 12:30pm at Platt Lane Sports Complex, Manchester.
Having travelled from Cardiff to London via Neath, Hull, Limerick and Avignon, the world’s foremost Rugby League journalists will now descend upon the home of the Rugby League World Cup 2013 final for a much more decisive show down the Rugby League World Cup touch rugby tournament to be contested by four rival teams of writers and reporters from Australia, New Zealand, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Each side is also hoping to gain support from players of Rugby League World Cup 2013 in Manchester to enjoy a day of touch rugby, a sport growing rapidly in in the city including weekly Monday night summer sessions hosted by Mancunians RL.
Manchester has played host to Australia throughout Rugby League World Cup 2013 and the Kangaroos have been very kind in sparing their time to help develop the sport of Rugby League in a football-dominated city. Mancunians RL hope to build on the success of their recently launched U15 Academy by holding an Open Session in Didsbury, South Manchester Monday 2 December at 6pm.
All journalists involved in RLWC 2013 coverage are very welcome to attend with all levels of rugby encouraged to join in what will a fun celebration of an incredible Rugby League World Cup.
