“I’m delighted to have seen so many players from a number of different schools take the time out to come down and enjoy it here with the Australian team.” Hopewell told Rugby League World Cup reporters on Thursday.

The Kangaroos were taking time out from their busy RLWC2013 training schedule to attend the school ahead of their quarter final match against USA on Saturday 16th November, 1pm at the Glyndwr University Racecourse Stadium, Wrexham.

The Aussie stars spent a couple of hours coaching the teams and providing advice to the young players who have been inspired to play Rugby League after watching the Rugby League World Cup on television, before presenting the winning side Wright Robinson College with the inaugural Mancunians RL Year 10 Schools trophy.

Mancunians Chairman Hopewell see a bright future for Rugby League in the city and encourages anyone under 16 who has been inspired by Rugby League World Cup 2013 to make their way to Didsbury on Friday and give the sport a try.
